Re: Stubborn Memory Trouble w/ 3.4

It can. I was not fully in control of the OS installation at the time it was installed. If I get an opportunity on a new machine, I am going to press hard for 64 bit.

Re: Stubborn Memory Trouble w/ 3.4

I was feeling awkward and wanting to avoid troubling Bob unnecessarily. I would love to move to a 64bit OS, and am looking in to my options as we speak. (I'll likely have some questions regarding OS and hardware later today or early next week as I put together a business case for a new machin...

Re: Stubborn Memory Trouble w/ 3.4

That was me :)

That is an interesting theory. While I feel a little silly asking permission  , do you think that is worth posting to the emswrf mailing list?

Re: Stubborn Memory Trouble w/ 3.4

Hmmm. The run with a 10 vert level reduction (55 -> 45) ran about twice as long ( 6.25 hrs) before failing similarly, though FWIW this time there were 4932720 bytes requested that were unavailable. I am not understanding why I am exausting my memory resources now in 3.4 where in 3.1 I had no trouble...

Stubborn Memory Trouble w/ 3.4

Hi all, I installed the current 3.4 version last week, finally upgrading from 3.1.1.5.1. Installation went well with only one or two minor issues that were quickly resolved. I was working off of a duel quad core processor machine with 16GB ram running a 32bit install of Red Hat Enterprise 5. I updat...

Re: Has NEWR/WRF EMS any future ?

Is there anything we as a user community can do to help Bob out? Tip Jar? Beta testing? I imagine he is just as anxious to release it as we (okay, at least I) am for it's release.

Dynamic Downscaling of Wind Events - Sugestions?

Hello, I am working to produce as accurate as possible surface (10m) windfield as possible for a number of wind events in the VA / NC area of the eastern US, including baroclinic events such as strong post frontal winds and nor’easters, as well as landfalling tropical cyclones. I am currently tinker...

Re: Simulation from older RUC data - HELP

For archived RUC data (Hybrid Cords) you might want to check out: http://www.arm.gov/data/datastreams/ruc20hybr It is however only analysis data (00hr), so it very well may not fit your needs.
