Re: Temperature 2m above the ground too cold

The problem seems occur more during periods of high pressure , with excessive nocturnal radiation , as in days gone, when in fact there was fog formation for most of the day and the temperature remained about 7-8 ° C. This looks to me like problem with model not seeing enough low level water vapour...

Re: Temperature 2m above the ground too cold

Hi Gippox You use 3dvar in EMS. 've seen great improvements? you think it's helpful? is very complex to run!? what data do you use?? try changing the patterns of short-wave radiation. Often combine great gui in the Po valley. fr example i work well with 05-05 Hi Antonix, yes i use WRFDA with 3DVar ...

Re: Temperature 2m above the ground too cold

Hello Meteo thank you :) , i will try for now to change long wave radiation scheme (RRTMG), if with this solution improves the problem. From what i can understand the problem appears to be due to an excessive nocturnal radiation from the terrain, while the sea does not happen. I use new data set gre...

Temperature 2m above the ground too cold

Hello all, i continue to have problems with the temperatures at 2m above the ground, especially at night, that is too cold to 3-4 degrees. Temperatures above the sea seem correct. I use arw core initialized by wrfda. This is my namelist: &time_control start_year = 2013, 2013 start_month = 12, 12 sta...

Metgrid don't read sst files

Hello , i have compiled WPS 3.5 for use with wrfems, but I have a problem with the acquisition of SST data file. If i read log i see that metdrid not process sst files (ssthr and sstsport). This happens to wrfems 3.2 and 3.4. Processing domain 1 of 1 /home/andrea/wrfems/runs/arw/wpsprd/SSTPTILE:2013...

Re: Intel 4770k

I managed to run UPP, more or less ... The total accumulated precipitation is different from wrfems, and i can not view some fields with grads, for example, the temperature at 500 and 700 mb. For copygb which settings do you use? I use the following: read nav < 'copygb_gridnav.txt' export nav ${POST...

Re: Intel 4770k

Use -xAVX2 for Haswell CPUs but then you can't use those binaries on 3xxx line or older. For UPP I don't find any use of vectorization options. It is slow however you compile  OK thanks :) I meant this guide for the use of UPP with wrfems (3.1 or 3.4) http://www.wrfems.info/viewt...

Re: Intel 4770k

Hi Meteo, you could not explain it better ! ;) To compile with the AVX instructions (with the intel compiler) i have to set: 24. Linux x86_64 i486 i586 i686, Xeon (SNB with AVX mods) ifort compiler with icc (dmpar) This option adds to configure.wrf "FCOPTIM =-O3 -xAVX", is sufficient or is there mor...
